Summary
One-dimensional thermodynamic model of how heated air carries energy through the collector, chimney and wind turbines of a solar chimney power plant, solved numerically with a Runge–Kutta scheme. It was checked against a large plant design with a 950 m chimney and 100 MW design shaft power, and it shows how turbine shaft power depends on mass flow rate at several solar absorption levels and gives suitable turbine operating conditions.
