Summary

EnergyPlus simulations of a solar chimney attached to a seven-storey office building in Isfahan compare chimney positions on the south, south-west and south-east sides, and also a central placement against one on the south facade, with wall and glazing materials varied as well. The south-east position ventilates best, since it receives the most radiation and has two absorbing walls. Each chimney supplied enough airflow for the spaces connected to it.
