Summary
A small laboratory rig coupling a solar chimney power plant with seawater desalination was built and monitored for internal temperatures and hourly freshwater output. A seawater layer served as heat storage, keeping the system running day and night; most fresh water was produced after sunset, peaking in the evening, and overall solar utilization was about 21%, well above that of a chimney alone.
