Summary

Field measurements in a bedroom of a single-storey Malaysian terrace house, combined with validated FloVent CFD simulations, were used to explore how solar chimney dimensions affect stack-driven ventilation of a single-sided room in a hot, humid climate. A chimney about 3.5 m tall and long with a 1 m gap raised indoor air speed by over 30% relative to the baseline house.
