Summary
Three-dimensional CFD modelling of a solar chimney power plant, combining radiation, solar load and turbine sub-models and validated against the Spanish prototype, shows that including radiative exchange in the collector prevents overestimating absorbed energy and improves agreement with measured peak turbine pressure drop; ambient temperature alters airflow speed but hardly changes temperature rise or power output.
