Summary
Simulations, validated against experimental data, of a large solar chimney planned for a 2016 horticultural exhibition in China examine how collector inlet height and radius shape the internal temperature field for plant growing. Temperatures barely change until the inlet drops to about 0.2 m or the radius shrinks to 1.13 km. A soil-temperature procedure estimates the extra heat required.
