Summary
A 2-D CFD model in FLUENT simulates an inclined solar chimney that also recovers waste heat from power-plant flue gases, and is checked against a lab-scale experiment. Hotter flue gas strongly improves performance, by about 75% over the tested temperature rise. Collection efficiency rises with absorber length up to a point and then falls, with about 2.5 m found suitable.
