Summary

Field measurements in a retrofitted zero-energy school building in tropical Singapore compare a classroom zone ventilated through solar-assisted ducts with a similar reference zone. The chimney kept air moving even on cooler days and made indoor air warm more slowly and cool faster by up to two hours. Lowering the inlet to occupant height raised peak air speed from about 0.49 to 0.60 m/s.
