Summary

Field experiments on a full-size test room in an arid climate combining a wind catcher, a solar chimney and an earth-to-air heat exchanger for passive heating and cooling. Together, the three devices kept the room about 13 °C cooler than outdoors in summer and 10 °C warmer in winter, cutting energy use by roughly half.
