Summary

Proposes a solar chimney plant for El Paso, Texas, coupled with solid oxide electrolysis and fuel cells: surplus power makes hydrogen, which is stored and later turned back into electricity and heat to cover night-time demand. A genetic algorithm optimizes the economics. Peak hydrogen output is about 0.28 kg/s, meeting roughly 79% of a district's summer demand and 37% in winter.
