Summary
Combining Ansys Fluent simulations with measurements on a prototype built in Sfax, Tunisia, the authors examine how collector roof height influences a solar chimney power plant, including its internal temperature, velocity, pressure and turbulence fields. Simulated and measured results agree well, and lowering the roof height is shown to raise the power output.
