Summary

Numerical CFD analysis of an indirect solar dryer that couples a solar chimney fitted with a reversed absorber and a packed-bed storage layer. Thermal storage raises nighttime airflow by as much as 32%, cuts fluctuations in crop temperature, and lengthens drying operation from 10 to about 12.5 hours. A more porous bed also gives higher peak temperatures.
