Summary

CFD simulations with a standard k–ε turbulence model examine turbulent buoyant airflow in a solar chimney with a tilted passive wall connected to a room, under uniform heat flux on the absorber. Tilting the wall lowers turbulence and improves ventilation, while modelling the chimney alone, without the room, overestimates mass flow by about 10%.
