Summary
Finite-volume simulations of turbulent airflow in a solar chimney examine how varying the ratio of the tower's outlet radius to its inlet radius, from 0.5 to 6, alters velocity and mass flow. The ratio proves to be a key lever for controlling the thermo-hydrodynamic behaviour, with an optimum beyond which further increase is counterproductive.
