Summary
A 2D axisymmetric CFD model, validated against experimental data, is used to examine how sloping the collector entrance of a solar chimney power plant affects airflow and heat transfer. The best combination of slope length and angle (about 9°) raises available power by roughly 16% compared with a flat collector roof, and the optimal angle barely changes with Rayleigh number.
