Summary

Field tests in Erbil, northern Iraq, on a solar chimney model whose collector covers only one third of a full circle tracked air temperatures, solar radiation and chimney airflow. Air at the chimney inlet peaked before ambient temperature did, heat stored in the ground was released later in the day, and airflow reached about 2.1 m/s after solar noon.
