Summary

Numerical simulations backed by theoretical analysis examine buoyancy-driven airflow and heat transfer in inclined solar chimneys across Rayleigh numbers and tilt angles of 30–90°. Backflow appears near the glazing above a critical Rayleigh number that falls as the tilt angle grows, and it cuts ventilation. Placing discrete heat sources on the glazing wall stops the reversal and improves airflow.
