Summary

Cost and income model comparing two hybrid plants in which a solar updraft tower is paired with desalination and reuse of thermal plant exhaust heat, one fitted with a wind-driven booster at the tower outlet. Using a risk-weighted discounting approach, the booster version earns clearly more over its lifetime and has losses only in its first operating year, compared with four years for the plain version.
