Summary

Combining a power plant's dry cooling tower with a solar chimney, so that condenser waste heat plus collected sunlight drive a turbine-generating updraft, is assessed with a finite-volume CFD model for a 250 MW Iranian steam plant. Turbine output grows with chimney diameter, reaching about 3 MW, and the plant's thermal efficiency rises by up to roughly 0.37%.
