Summary

Theoretical investigation of how orientation affects heat gain in a solar chimney that drives natural ventilation of buildings in hot climates, where heat stored in the chimney warms the air and creates buoyancy-driven flow. A finite difference model shows that the heat a chimney can collect depends strongly on its azimuth.
