SOLAR CHIMNEY DYNAMIC PERFORMANCE UNDER TYPICAL MEDITERRANEAN SUMMER CONDITIONS P. Koronakis Models the night-time cooling ventilation that a massive, glazed solar chimney can deliver after storing solar heat in its concrete walls during the day. Using hourly Athens climate data and a transient heat transfer analysis of wall and air temperatures, the work estimates that one metre of chimney can extract roughly 100–200 m3/h of room air on a typical July night.

Summary
Models the night-time cooling ventilation that a massive, glazed solar chimney can deliver after storing solar heat in its concrete walls during the day. Using hourly Athens climate data and a transient heat transfer analysis of wall and air temperatures, the work estimates that one metre of chimney can extract roughly 100–200 m³/h of room air on a typical July night.
