Summary

Surveys passive building ventilation driven by solar chimneys and discusses pairing a collector-assisted chimney with buried air ducts for cooling in Bangladesh. Soil a couple of metres deep stays cooler than outdoor air, so drawing intake air through it could bring indoor conditions to comfort levels during hot-season peaks and cut demand on a strained power grid.
