Summary

A transient model of a solar chimney, accounting for airflow pattern, collector-wall convection and radiative exchange with the surroundings, is coupled to a simple house model and driven by weather data. Parametric runs show about two air changes per hour from a 6 m² chimney, but the chimney alone cannot keep the building cool in summer.
