Summary

A solar chimney was designed, built and tested to draw outdoor air through a buried cooling pipe for summer cooling of a house. Theory and measurements both indicate the chimney can drive this earth-tube system during the day with no electrical input; the work also examines how building airtightness and tube design affect the resulting airflow.
