Summary

Simulations based on the Manzanares prototype in Spain, validated against Haaf's measurements, examine how altering chimney height, chimney diameter, collector radius and collector roof height affects airflow in a solar chimney. Raising the roof lowers performance, whereas the other enlargements raise air velocity; with a wider chimney, turbines work better at the collector exit than inside the tower.
