Summary
Examines a solar chimney power plant for high latitudes in which an inclined collector built on a south-facing mountain slope also serves as the chimney, topped by a short vertical tower housing a vertical-axis turbine. An analytical model of power and efficiency shows that, near 35° north, a suitably tilted collector outperforms a horizontal one, with the advantage growing at larger scales and allowing a lower tower.
