Summary

A CFD model is used to assess an L-shaped solar chimney for building ventilation, in which a horizontal air channel feeds a vertical one, comparing two total lengths and two gap widths. Making the horizontal leg longer than the vertical one lowers the airflow but raises the air temperature gain, while the effect on thermal efficiency depends on the gap-to-length ratio.
