Summary
A solar chimney power plant augmented with flue-gas thermal channels feeding the collector is tested on a small prototype and modelled in ANSYS Fluent to allow round-the-clock generation. Adding the channels raises airflow and temperature even without flue gas, and with hot flue gas the simulated collector efficiency rises by about 64% and mass flow by 12%.
