Summary

Using field-validated CFD models, a public indoor pool in a hot, dry region is ventilated either by its current fan-driven system or by a passive setup that draws air through buried ducts into a solar chimney. The passive design uses less energy and handles humidity and pool contaminants better, lowering chloroform where swimmers breathe by roughly 60% and boosting hourly air renewal by as much as 174%.
