Summary
Two-dimensional ANSYS Fluent RANS simulations of a vertical solar chimney test two passive changes: tinted glazing and a single horizontal baffle. Tinting raises airflow only when radiation is not modelled, by suppressing reverse flow. A Taguchi-optimised baffle near the chimney top, narrow relative to the air gap, gives an average gain of about 6% in mass flow rate across the tested scenarios.
