Summary

Theoretical modelling of a house cooled passively by pairing a solar chimney with a buried earth-to-air heat exchanger. Results indicate the chimney alone can drive airflow through the underground duct during the day with no electrical input and, when properly sized, maintain thermal comfort for much of hot summer days; the number of chimneys and exchangers needed is determined.
