Summary

A theoretical one-dimensional treatment of buoyant airflow in solar updraft towers, modelling the collector and tower as compressible and the inlet, turbines and transition duct as incompressible, solved as a coupled system. Checked against Manzanares data and Enviromission forecasts with good agreement, it also uses nondimensional analysis to estimate mass flow, extractable power and required tower height.
