Summary
CFD models of a vertical solar chimney with fixed wall temperature compare airflow and heat transfer for dry versus humid air. Moisture lowered the ventilation rate by roughly 15–26% and raised air temperatures inside the channel. For humid conditions, the authors recommend a 14:1 height-to-gap ratio and a restricted inlet height to maximise airflow while limiting reverse flow.
