Summary
Simulations, validated against experimental data, examine whether a very large solar chimney heated by solar radiation, steel-plant waste heat and groundwater could host climate zones for plant cultivation. Air warms by roughly 6 °C in summer and 17 °C in winter. Lowering the collector inlet or shrinking the radius has little effect until a threshold, beyond which flow and temperatures change markedly.
