Summary
Three-dimensional turbulent Ansys-Fluent simulations of a tapered solar chimney, with one heated vertical wall and a tilted glazed wall, test how glass inclination affects wall temperatures and airflow. Under a fixed heat flux a 2° tilt performs best, but under Naples irradiation the largest angle tested works best; winter heat gains to the building reach about 8–12% of the solar radiation entering the chimney.
