Summary

A solar chimney variant for cleaning urban air is proposed, replacing the central tower with an inverted U-shaped cooling tower fitted with water sprays and adding a particle filter at the collector inlet. Simulations show that spraying water boosts natural convection and heat transfer, giving a flow of about 810 m³/s, though water use must be weighed against cost and comfort.
