Summary

Design optimization of a solar chimney that both generates electricity and condenses fresh water from seawater. Collector and tower dimensions and chimney wall curvature are varied, a two-hidden-layer neural network trained on numerical simulations replaces costly runs, and a genetic algorithm builds the Pareto front. The best trade-off gives about 719 kW and 14.3 kg/s of fresh water.
