Summary

A solar chimney performance model is refined by adding a wind turbine power curve so that output is not overestimated, then used for hourly annual simulations at sites in Australia, Japan and the UAE, a parametric analysis and grey wolf multi-objective optimization of energy yield against electricity cost. Ever-larger towers and collectors do not always pay off; the best Australian design yields about 121 GWh per year at roughly 0.28 $/kWh.
