Summary
Experimental tests in Thailand on a south-facade solar chimney whose sun-facing wall contains a paraffin phase change material layer, fitted to a small concrete model house and compared with an identical house with a plain concrete wall. The PCM chimney kept the room cooler, cut heat gain through the wall and produced airflow that rose and fell with solar radiation.
