Summary
A solar chimney plant combined with a seawater pool and an electrolyser at its base is assessed as a way to store surplus renewable power as green hydrogen while also yielding distilled water. Based on local weather data, it is estimated to deliver about 380 MWh of electricity and 13 t of hydrogen per year, and selling the hydrogen and oxygen lowers its levelised cost of energy.
