Summary

Thesis examining how the height-to-base-length ratio of a trapezoidal-prism solar chimney affects its ventilation efficiency, combining tests on three shapes, new correlations for airflow and efficiency, and CFD of a wind-assisted exhaust design. Efficiency peaks at a ratio near 1.65, and a RETScreen analysis suggests each square metre of chimney can ventilate about 37 m² of living space.
