Summary
A solar chimney whose tower widens with height, acting as a diffuser, is proposed to raise power output over a conventional cylindrical tower. Pressure recovery lowers static pressure at the tower base and draws in more air; lab-scale experiments and CFD show turbine inlet velocity rising roughly 1.4-fold, implying about 2.6–3 times more power.
