Summary
Uses a mathematical model to examine how tilt angle, air gap width and height affect the ventilation performance of building-integrated solar chimneys. A 60° inclination gave consistently high air change rates across the year, while the vertical design performed worst, making 60° the best tilt for a Northern Hemisphere site at 34° latitude. Integrating such a chimney is reported to lower building energy use.
