Summary
3D CFD simulations of a model based on the Manzanares prototype test whether an extra heat source under the collector floor can keep a solar chimney producing power when sunlight is weak or absent. Hotter sources raise output sharply. With a 200 °C source, the plant produces more than 75 kW at night, which is above the 50 kW daytime peak of the unheated reference case.
