Summary
Researchers built a high-altitude test rig of a solar chimney power plant, with a 15 m tower and a 15 m collector, and measured airflow temperature and velocity under the collector. Both followed the pattern of solar radiation. A storage layer kept the system running after dark, and the air was warmest on the west side of the collector and coolest on the north.
