Summary
ANSYS FLUENT simulations of a solar chimney power plant sited in Jaipur, focused on night-time operation driven by heat released from ground storage, which had to be modelled as a porous layer with radiative and convective collector boundaries. Replacing one tall chimney with clusters of four or five shorter ones lowered peak air speed but raised total flow; passive advection wells in the storage were also assessed.
