Summary

Laboratory tests on a vertical solar chimney with a uniformly heated wall, varying channel gap and heat input to measure ventilation airflow and the temperature and velocity distributions. Airflow peaks at a gap-to-height ratio of roughly 1:2, and both air temperature and speed are greatest close to the heated surface, falling off toward the opposite side.
