Summary
Parametric study of vertical solar chimneys for natural ventilation of tropical housing, especially where wind-driven single-sided ventilation performs poorly. A pilot test, a terrace house model and an earlier research model were each examined through both CFD simulation and physical experiment. The numerical and experimental results agreed well, which supports further work on adapting vertical solar chimneys to tropical climates.
