Summary
Two-dimensional CFD simulations, validated against measurements in a test building, examine how a south-roof solar chimney combined with a water-sprayed, cooled north metal ceiling affects indoor temperature and airflow. Simulated flow rates differed from measured ones by 13–18%, and cooling the ceiling by 4 °C raised the airflow leaving the chimney by about 17%.
