Summary

Three-dimensional CFD simulations modelled on the Manzanares pilot plant test a solar chimney collector fitted with fins, varying how many fins there are and how wide and tall they are. The best layout combines the largest number of fins, the tallest fins and the narrowest fins tested, and raises overall plant efficiency to about 1.67%.
